(MONROE CO.) – Work is expected to get underway Monday (Feb. 17) on a $2.4 million intersection improvement project at State Road 45/46 and East Discovery Parkway, formerly 14th Street/Range Road, in Bloomington.
The project aims to enhance safety and capacity at the intersection ahead of the new IU Health Regional Academic Health Center, which is currently under construction.
State Road 45/46 will be restricted to a single lane in each direction between 10th and 17th Streets during construction. Discovery Parkway will also be closed at this location.
The project includes storm sewer improvements, signal work, added turn lanes, and accessible curb ramps. The contract was awarded to Milestone Contractors in November and is expected to be completed in July 2020.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
