Terry Dean Owens, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 5:37 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born November 26, 1934, he was the son of Roy and Mabel (Borders) Owens. He married Purificacion “Edith” Villanueva and she survives. He retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty-four years, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a custom woodworker and a member of the Gillen
Post #33 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Edith, of Bedford; children, Valerie Valls (John), of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela Evans, of Oak Harbor, WA, Ronald Owens, of Midway, GA, Paula Conner (John), of Hagersville, MD, Terry Owens, Jr.
(Kimberly), of Peach Tree Corners, GA, Nancy Wendt (Arnold), of Bedford, and Becky Eisnaugle (Greg), of Tacoma, WA; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bobby, and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery in Needmore. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 14th and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, February 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. on Friday.
