(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped to help him after his vehicle broke down at the intersection of State Road 37 and Fifth Street on Monday night.
“During the conversation with the driver, 32-year-old Jordan Butcher, the officer noticed a handgun and Butcher was acting nervous and sweating profusely,” said Chief Terry Moore. “The officer asked for consent to search the vehicle and located several pills not prescribed to Butcher as well as marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.”
When the officer searched Butcher they found meth in his pockets.
“While being processed at the jail the staff located more pills and methamphetamine,” Chief Moore added.
Butcher is facing charges of dealing meth while in possession of a handgun, possession of meth while in possession of a handgun, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking with an inmate, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
