(BEDFORD) – A Springville woman was issued a summons to appear in court on Saturday afternoon on a charge of theft after she scanned several times at the self-checkout at Walmart, left behind a cart full of items and walked out with three items she didn’t pay for.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, 31-year-old Jennifer East was stopped by the loss prevention officers after they witnessed East pass through the self-checkout without paying for three items.
“After watching store security video Jennifer scanned several items totaling $350, then left the shopping cart near the self-checkout and only walked out with three items totaling $23.81.”
