  • 6:31 a.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 1070 block of Arthur Road in Springville. An older black female is driving in a hayfield in a green Honda with Ohio license plates. The caller does not know the woman

  • 8:21 a.m. Controlled fire in the1950 block of State Road 37
  •  8:23 a.m. Report of a large piece of limestone in the southbound lane of State Road 37 at the Avoca exit

  • 8:46 a.m. Report of a suicidal person in the 260 block of Schores Lane. Police found the male at Kenray Lake Road and Patricia Lane and was taken home

  • 2:22 p.m. Report of vandalism to a speaker box at the drive-through at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Mitchell
  • 2:22 p.m. Domestic fight in the 70 block of Walnut Heights Road. A female is on the ground in the roadway. When police arrived the male was running from the location into a field. After searching the area, police could not locate the male
  • 2:25 p.m. Animal control to the 310 block of West Oak Street for an aggressive dog running loose and chasing people
  • 2:30 p.m. Report of an erratic driver at State Road 37 and US 50 West. The male says he has a protective order against the driver and he attempted to run him off the road near AppleAcres
  • 2:39 p.m. Request for animal control to the 10 block of Wells Lane for two dogs with five puppies that were abandoned

  • 3:34 p.m. Report a group of children running in front of cars on Hoosier Avenue between the school and Casey’s in Oolitic
  • 3:36 p.m. Report of an 8-year-old boy throwing knives inside a home in the 3610 block of Old Vincennes Road. The caller says he is now walking down the roadway with no shirt or shoes on and is now throwing rocks at her vehicle. The caller says her boyfriend now restraining her son in the yard at this time. The boy was taken by ambulance to IU Health For a medical evaluation
  • 3:39 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 300 block of Wells Avenue. 
  • 4:14 p.m. Report of a large group of juveniles fighting in the 800 block of West Main Street in Mitchell
  • 4:20 p.m. A motorist in the 410 block of South 6th Street reported she parked her vehicle on the side of the roadway and a person is taking video and pictures of her
  • 4:35 p.m. A woman wanted to speak to an officer about a firearm that was in the department evidence room for about two years and now is covered in rust. It was not in that condition when Mitchell Police officers took possession of it
  • 4:39 p.m. Report of a five-gallon gas can along the side of the roadway on US 50 East and State Road 446. Police were unable to find the gas can
  • 5:32 p.m. 911 call at US 50 and Leatherwood reporting an erratic driver
  • 5:36 p.m. Report of a theft in the 5070 block of River Road. A male stole tractor weights off of her tractor. She knows the male because Worley’s Salvage Yard called her telling her he brought them in and received a check from them

Incidents – Jan. 24

  • 12:10 a.m. Report of someone possibly in a residence in the 620 block of West Frank Street. The female caller is locked in a bedroom with her child. The caller says she can hear movement in the hallway. Police found no one in the home
  • 12:22 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37
  • 12:33 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Trogdon Lane. A citation was issued for expired driver’s license and expired registration
  • 12:56 a.m. Transport detail to IU Health Hospital to IU Health Hospital in Bloomington
  • 3:11 a.m. 911 call reporting a medical emergency in the 120 block of Western Hills Avenue.
