(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman suffered minor injuries after she fell asleep while driving and crashed into a parked vehicle at 18th and J streets early Wednesday morning.
Bedford Police were alerted to the crash at 4:26 a.m.
According to a Bedford Police report, 48-year-old Rhonda Johnson, of Bedford, was traveling east in her 2016 Dodge Caravan on 18th Street when she says she fell asleep.
She woke when she crashed into a parked vehicle.
Police say Johnson crashed into a 1998 Volvo owned by Jennfier Vickous parked along 18th Street. The impact pushed the Volvo into a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer owned by Stella Services LLC.
The impact caused the airbags to deploy on Johnson’s vehicle. She was checked out at the scene by an ambulance crew but refused to be transported to a local hospital
The Volvo had damage to the front and rear of the vehicle. The Trailblazer had rear-end damage.
The Volvo and Johnson’s Caravan were towed from the scene.
