(BEDFORD) – Elizabeth Freeman-Cammack is a Republican candidate for Lawrence County Coroner.
She has been a Deputy Coroner since 2018. Elizabeth is a certified Medicolegal Death Investigator and has taken additional training related to death investigations. She is actively working investigations and has been building good working relationships with local law enforcement, the Prosecutor’s Office, EMS, and fire departments. In her time as a Deputy Coroner, she has spent countless hours learning as much as she can about death investigations.
Elizabeth is an owner and Funeral Director with Chastain Funeral Home, Haverly Chapel, and C & F Crematory. In her 18 years working in the death care industry she has worked with numerous Coroner and Medical Examiner offices. She has worked in several funeral homes in small and large communities, as well as a Chief Embalmer for a large metro embalming service. Elizabeth returned to Lawrence County in 2007 to serve her county.
Currently, Elizabeth is Vice President of the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa, board member of the Mitchell Community Public Library, and City of Mitchell Zoning Board. She is a past Persimmon Festival Chairperson and board member of the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce. Elizabeth is a Lawrence County Women of Excellence recipient.
Growing up in Bryantsville, she is the daughter of Jerry and Pam (Duncan) Freeman. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 2002 and got her degree in Mortuary Science from Mid-America College of Funeral Service. She is married to Josh Cammack, who is head of engineering for Manchester Tank in Bedford. They have one son, Ellis, along with two pugs and a cat.
