INDOT To Host Public Meeting Regarding Airport Road In French Lick/West Baden

(FRENCH LICK) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a public hearing regarding the realignment of Airport Road/County Road 300 South in French Lick.

INDOT will host the public hearing Thursday, Nov. 7 at Springs Valley Jr. / Sr. High School at 326 South Larry Bird Blvd. in French Lick at 6 p.m. local time. All interested persons will have an opportunity to comment on preliminary design plans and environmental documentation for the proposed New Airport Road / C.R. 300 South Road realignment from State Road 145 to County Road 375 which is the entrance to Orange County French Lick Municipal Airport. 

The project is expected to provide a safe roadway meeting current roadway design standards, enhancing travel to and from the French Lick Municipal Airport in Orange County.  In addition to enhancing safety for the traveling public, the proposed road realignment project also takes into consideration airport operations and economic development in proposing this transportation improvement.

INDOT is seeking public comments regarding the environmental documentation and preliminary design plans for the New Airport Road C.R. 300 South road realignment project and encourages the community to attend the public hearing.  Public comments will be accepted through Friday, November 15, 2019.  INDOT respectfully requests comments be submitted by this time. Verbal statements for the public record will be accepted during a public comment session offered during the public hearing immediately following the formal presentation.  Written comments may be submitted prior to the public hearing and during the comment period to: INDOT Office of Public Involvement, attention Rickie Clark, IGCN Room N642, 100 North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204, email: rclark@indot.in.gov.
