Lane Closures Begin Wednesday on State Road 67 Bridges over Little White Lick Creek in Mooresville

(MORGAN CO.) – INDOT contractor Force Construction will start work on a $4.1 million superstructure replacement project on the State Road 67 bridges over Little White Lick Creek in Mooresville on Wednesday, weather permitting.

State Road 67 will be reduced to one lane in each direction as crews begin performing temporary shoulder widening. This traffic pattern will remain in place for the duration of the project. Crews will complete the demolition of existing bridge spans during the winter months and begin concrete pours in the spring. Concrete patching and joint repair are also planned for both bridges.

The project is beginning this construction season to be completed prior to the full closure of State Road 37 expected in 2021 for mainline I-69 construction. The entire superstructure replacement project is scheduled to be completed next fall.

Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through work zones. Due to the project’s close proximity to a railroad crossing, drivers should also avoid stopping on the tracks.
