Business 50 Utility and Roadway Improvements Public Meeting Invitation

(WASHINGTON) – The City of Washington will conduct a public meeting regarding the proposed improvement being proposed for business 50 in Washington. The public meeting will be held on October 16th, at 6;30 p.m. at the City of Washington Community Building, located at 501 Burkhart Drive, Washington, Indiana.

The limits of the improvements are along Business 50 from Southwest 11th Street to Lt. Tony Jones Drive for a  total length of approximately 2.83 miles.

The proposed improvements are constructed through a series of smaller projects that are currently under development.  The projects are as follows:

  • East End Roadway resurfacing – State Street to Lt. Tony Jones Drive.
  • West End Utility replacements – Maysville Road to SE 3rd Street.
  • West End Road Rehabilitation – SW 11th Street to SE 3rd Street.
  • Reconstruction of Business 50 from SE 3rd Street to State Street.
  • Utility replacements from SE 3rd to State Street.

Preliminary details of each project, including the scope of the work, schedule, potential maintenance of traffic schemes, and financing will be presented during the public meeting. Upon the conclusion of the presentation, project representatives will be available to answer questions and take comments.

The development of design plans is in the primary stages. Your attendance and participation in the public meeting will assist the design team in ensuring that all issues are addressed to the maximum extent possible.
