Pendleton Juvenile Students Complete Track One of The Last Mile

(PENDELTON) — Staff and students at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of  students enrolled in The Last Mile coding Program.The Last  Mile prepares incarcerated individuals for successful re-entry through business and technology training.

Darius Fahmawi, Calvin McCaster and Ivanjhay Bilimon all participate in The Last Mile coding program and successfully completed track one upon the presentation of their final projects to fellow classmates and staff. These students have learned front-end web development including Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript. These students will now move to track two to learn back-end web development equipping them with the skills to be Junior Full-Stack Developers.

Student Calvin McCaster stated, “This is a great opportunity for us to learn new skills. I look forward to my possibilities within a career in web development and what my future holds.”
