(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington South swept past Bedford North Lawrence in three sets during high school volleyball action on Tuesday night.

The No.14 Panthers (14-3) cruised to a 25-7, 25-16, 25-12 triumph. Molly Mungle had 9 kills and Haley Davidson added 7, plus 4 aces, to lead South.

“South is a great team,” BNL coach Jordan Robbins said. “They had a huge block (six as a team) and aggressive hitters.”

Merritt Callahan, back from a recent concussion, led the Stars with 8 of 8 serving, 12 assists and 6 digs. Haley Deckard was 5 of 5 serving with 3 digs and 6 kills, and Sydney Gipson added 7 digs and 4 kills.

“Our kids fought harder in the second set, but weren’t able to finish,” Robbins said. “Passing has continued to haunt us. When we don’t have the opportunity to run an offense, we are constantly defending. We made some scrappy plays, which is something the kids are great at doing, but it just wasn’t enough.”

BNL (1-17) will host Madison on Saturday.
