Stars Slam Salem to Extend Streak

Cade Provo recorded a win at No.1 singles as BNL swept past Salem 5-0 on Thursday.

(SALEM) – Bedford North Lawrence recorded its third straight victory, winning a pair of tense tiebreakers en route to a 5-0 triumph over Salem during high school tennis action on Thursday.

Adam Tlustek and Graham Turner won second-set tiebreakers in singles as the Stars improved to 10-8.

Cade Provo won a tight clash with Mason Dillon at No.1 singles, pulling out a 7-5, 6-4 victory. Tlustek topped Jacob Rose 6-4, 7-6 (8-6 in the tiebreaker) at No.2, and Turner continued his streak of tough wins with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) victory over Holden Collins at No.3.

The Stars had few issues in doubles. Wyatt Scherschel and Cameron Gratzer fell down 2-1 in the opening set, then won the next 11 games for a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Shawn Hubbard and Aiden Minton at No.1.

Steven Graham and Konley Woodward rolled past Sawyer Davis and Colton Wheeler 6-0, 6-1 at No.2.

BNL will host Madison in the first round of the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament on Monday.
