Seven Arrested After Breaking into Bloomington Apartment

(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington Police arrested seven people after they broke into an apartment Friday morning through an unlocked door.

Police went to the apartment at 1890 South Walnut Street after receiving a call around 3 a.m.

When police arrived, they looked in the window and saw people inside.

Officers spoke with one of those people, Blake Cunningham, who spoke to police through the locked door.

Police asked Cunningham to unlock the door, and he refused.

Police broke the door open and found five people inside. Police arrested Jessica Bell, Vanenna Guy, Mary-Jo Neighbors, Stanley Staples and James Stewart on a charge of residential entry.

Police found a back window open. Cunningham and Albert Lavelle had fled the apartment. They were found and arrested on charges of residential entry. Cunningham is also facing a charge of resisting arrest.
