Man Injured in Tractor Accident on Friday

(AVOCA) – An Avoca man was injured around Noon today after becoming trapped underneath a tractor on North Pike Road.

At 11:58 a.m. emergency personnel from IU Health Bedford and members of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 1000 Block of North Pike Road.

The victim’s tractor rolled into a near-by creek bed after he performed some work on the property.

The man freed himself from the wreckage and members of the fire department used a Stokes basket to get the man out of the woods nearby.

The man suffered injuries to his ribs, back, and neck.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Crossroads Church where he was met by a St. Vincent’s Air Ambulance and transported to Methodist Hospital.
