(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington Police officers were called to the 1300 block of West 13th Street Monday at 9:38 p.m. after a report of a disturbance.
According to Capt. Ryan Pedigo, when officers arrived, they heard gunshots
Officers found two people who had suffered gunshot wounds.
“Neither suffered life-threatening injuries,” according to Capt. Pedigo. “A 46-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg and a 34-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her foot. Both were treated and released.”
According to Capt. Pedigo, a person driving through a nearby parking lot had gotten into a verbal dispute with others in the area and suddenly began shooting.
“Others in the area began shooting back at the vehicle as it left the area,” added Capt. Pedigo.
Two individuals, 35-year-old Antwain Edmonson, who is a transient, and 26-year-old Stephon Huntley, of Bloomington, were arrested on a felony charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
“Many witnesses at the scene refused to cooperate with the investigation or provide information to investigators,” added Capt. Pedigo. “The investigation is still active, and additional charges and arrests are likely. No further information will be released at this time.”
