(BLOOMFIELD) – The Greene County Commissioners entered into an interlocal agreement with Sullivan County Commissioners to house inmates at the Greene County Jail.
Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom explained that the agreement would allow Sullivan County inmates to be transferred and housed at the Greene County Jail at a rate of $37.50 per day, plus any medical expenses incurred.
This is the same daily rate paid by the Department of Corrections for the housing of state prisoners at the Greene County Jail.
Sullivan County will be responsible for transferring any such inmates to the Greene County Jail.
