(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested after police noticed a white Ford Escape in a suspicious area of a parking lot in the 700 block of 16th Street, early Wednesday morning.

While approaching the vehicle, a male later identified as 34-year-old Christopher Wright exited and started walking away from the car.
Wright returned to speak with officers. They discovered he was wanted on a warrant and he was arrested.
While speaking with the other passengers in the car, officers saw an orange cap often found on a syringe on the back floorboard of the car.
The driver gave consent to search the vehicle, and an uncapped syringe was found in the middle of the back seat.

Officers spoke with Wright who was in the back seat before exiting the vehicle. Police say 24-year-old Kady Wilson who was also in the back seat.
“Both denied knowing the syringe was there,” says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. “The syringe was field-tested and tested positive for methamphetamine.”
Officers arrested both Wilson and Wright on charges of possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe.
Wright was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear
