Nancy Laverne Melton, 71, of Mitchell, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019, at her residence.
Born April 9, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Huel and Allergra (Lowery) Manuel. She married Cecil Melton July 13, 1990.
Nancy was a certified nursing assistant and had been employed in home health care. She was a mother to anyone who needed one.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Melton of Mitchell, children, James Manuel of Mitchell, Nellie Stephens of Mitchell, Angel Wheeler of Mitchell, stepchildren, Roxanne Knowles of Mitchell, Timmy Melton of Hardinsburg, Cindy Curren of Mitchell, Tammy Bowling of Orleans, Crystal Melton of Paoli; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Reasea White, of Austin and Gene Manuel, of Laurel
Her parents; son, Andy Riley; and siblings, Joe Manuel, Nellie Manuel, Mary Frost, and James Slover preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
