“Officers noticed Pate and Rodman were both covered in blood and requested an ambulance to check their injuries,” said Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore.

Police learned that Rodman had an active protective order on file against Pate.

Pate was arrested for violating that protective order.

The victim, who was at the service station, told police that Rodman had taken around $1,200 in cash from his wallet and took off running.

Police say Pate and Rodman were injured after the victim caught up to them and he attempted to retrieve his wallet.

“All three individuals had visible injuries were treated and released from medical care,” added Chief Moore.

Officers asked Rodman about the robbery and she gave officers consent to search her purse. Officers located a large amount of money with bloodstains on several of the bills inside the purse.

Pate and Rodman were then arrested.

Pate, of 2631 Washington Ave., is facing charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, invasion of privacy, and disorderly conduct.

Rodman, also of 2631 Washington Ave., is facing charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, residential entry, robbery, and theft.
