(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center (IIFC) was honored yesterday morning by the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 86 with an award recognizing its service and ongoing commitment to the multitude of emergency service agencies dedicated to crime prevention throughout Indiana.
Lodge 86 President Rick Snyder presented a plaque to the Deputy Director of Intelligence Colin McNabb which reads “In recognition of your outstanding contribution to the members of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 86 and Indiana law enforcement in support of criminal investigations and information”.
Along with the plaque, Snyder presented individual certificates of appreciation to the more than 10 analysts who staff the IIFC. “What you’re doing makes a difference and means something to us on the streets”, commented Snyder.
The IIFC is comprised of representatives from more than a dozen federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies. It provides a 24 hours a day, seven days a week centralized, comprehensive, multi-agency, information and intelligence sharing network to enhance the operational effectiveness of all Indiana public safety agencies involved in crime prevention and Homeland Security.
During the second quarter of 2019 alone, the IIFC handled more than 3,200 requests for information and analysis from law enforcement agencies throughout the state. Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter said, “The efforts of the IIFC demonstrate the collaborative efforts of law enforcement all across this state in an effort to enhance the safety within our communities”.
