Two People Seen Stealing Donation Jar From Gas Station

(PERU) – Two people were caught on camera stealing a donation jar from a gas station in Peru.

The Peru Police Department says a man and woman took the jar off the counter Tuesday at the Marathon station on Main Street.

PERU POLICE DEPARTMENT THEFT INVESTIGATION (CASE 19P-09407)The Peru Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in positively identifying the two subjects in the video below. The two subjects entered the Marathon Station at 336 E. Main Street and stole a collection can for Jacob Hiles, who had been involved in a serious vehicle accident earlier this year. The can contained an undisclosed amount of money and can be seen being taken off of the counter and into the female suspects bag. The jar was for Jacob Hiles, a man seriously injured in a motorcycle crash recently.

Officers don’t know exactly how much money was in the jar. Surveillance video shows the woman putting the jar in her bag and the man helping her do it.
