UPDATED: Paoli Police Identify Victim in Murder-Suicide

(PAOLI) – Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Paoli.

Paoli Police Sgt. Tyler Phillips identified the female victim as 28-year-old Amber Tracy. Tracy died from a gunshot wound.

Officials believe her husband, 29-year-old William Tracy, shot and killed Amber before turning the gun on himself.

Police say the couple died around 2:30 a.m on July 31.

Paoli Police Department responded to a mobile home at Southwest First Street around 1 p.m.

“At this time, detectives and officers are continuing to investigate the incident,” said Chief Randall Sanders. “Once the investigation is complete, full details will be made available.”

During this investigation, the Paoli Police Department has been assisted by Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Josh Babcock, the Orange County Coroner’s Office and Coroner Aaron Kemple, the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office and use of their facility, Forensic Pathologist Dr. James Jacobi, Southern Indiana Trasport.
