Campbellsburg Woman Injured After Car Hits Deer

(BEDFORD) – A Campbellsburg woman was injured after the vehicle she was a passenger in collided with a deer.

The accident happened at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday on US 50 East near Old US 50.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 26-year-old Amos Carnes, of West Baden, was traveling east on US 50 East when a deer ran out in front of his 2010 Kia Forte. Cranes struck the deer and then pulled into a nearby driveway to wait for emergency help.

His passenger, 24-year-old Ashlynn Matthews, complained of back pain following the incident.

Carnes was not injured during the incident.
