Local Walmart and Sam’s Club Associates, Customers and Members Raise $701,340 for Riley Hospital for Children

(UNDATED) – Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members in Indiana put their money where the miracles are during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign.

Walmart associates from Bedford, IN. Bedford was the #1 fundraising store in Indiana.

Indiana raised $701,340 for Riley Hospital for Children. The effort was part of a national campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Donations poured in June 10 through July 7, as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates at 155 locations held various in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members at the register to help kids live better. Stores’ fundraisers included everything from grilling out to hosting competitions between employees and managers.

“The CMN campaign is important to my family because my own 11-year-old son Evan is a Riley kid,” said Misty O’Toole, Assistant Store Manager in Bedford. “We know that without the donations of all the generous people in our local communities Riley couldn’t provide the level of care they do to over 300,000 kids each year.”

Donations to Riley Hospital for Children are used to support pediatric research and patient care, maternity and newborn health and family support programs, such as Child Life and Social Work. Because of the ongoing support of partners like Walmart and Sam’s Club, Riley is able to provide family-centered care through more than 323,000 patient visits each year.

“We are grateful for the continuous support and generosity of Walmart and Sam’s Club. They are committed to supporting the vital role Riley Hospital for Children plays in caring for children from all 92 Indiana counties,” said Meghan Miller, Chief Operating Officer for Riley Children’s Foundation.

Walmart and Sam’s Club funds impact each of the 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which treat one in 10 children across North America.
