(BEDFORD) – German American Bank presented a check for $10,000 to the Lawrence County Community Foundation as part of a commitment to 13 community foundations throughout southern Indiana.
These funds will be matched by the Lilly Endowment Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) initiative, which will grow the Lawrence County contribution to a total of $30,000.
According to Mark Franklin, Regional President for German American Bank serving Lawrence and Monroe Counties, “German American Bank supports this initiative as it provides much needed unrestricted funds for the Lawrence County Community Foundation. This $10,000 donation is just one example of our company’s giving culture. We are continually impressed by the foundation’s ability to utilize these funds to inspire creative, generous and lasting solutions that develop self-reliance now and well into the future.”
“We feel very fortunate to receive these resources from German American and the Lilly Endowment in such a way that we can create opportunities and solve concerns for the local people in the most relevant way,” stated Hope Flores, CEO of the Lawrence County Community Foundation. “We are confident in the impact the funds will have in addressing needs in 2019 and beyond.”
Through German American’s donation, 13 community foundations throughout southern Indiana will be awarded $10,000 each, including Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Warrick and Vanderburgh through the Community Foundation Alliance, as well as direct contributions to Monroe, Lawrence, Martin and Dubois Counties’ Community Foundations.
