(BEDFORD) – A free laundry day for families in need will be held August 10, 2019 from noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Laundry Village on Lincoln Avenue in Bedford.
The fundraiser is being conducted by Jenni Johnson and Carrie Rainey. The Laundry Village is not a sponsor of this event. However, the Oolitic Kiwanis Club have awarded a grant for $250 and the families of these two are contributing to the cause.
At this point there are enough funds to be able to support 25 families, and they are seeking donations to be able to help other families in need. A limit of two loads of washed and dried laundry has been set per family.
There is no pre-registration needed for families and seniors in need are also welcome to participate. The main goal is to help families get ready for going back to school.
A story time and coloring contest will take place while the parents are taking care of the laundry. Participants should understand that this is not meant to be child care.
For any additional information you can contact Carrie Rainey at 812-797-4186.
