New Haven Police Chief Stepping Down

(NEW HAVEN) – The New Haven Police Department will need a new chief soon, their current chief is stepping down.

It was announced Monday morning that he would be retiring after 23 years of service to the city’s Police Department.

Henry McKinnon has been serving as the New Haven Police Chief since March 2016.

WOWO says during his time on the force, he also served as road patrol, a D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. Officer, Student Resource Officer, Detective, and Deputy Chief.

The department has not announced any plans for a replacement.
