Brownstown Man Arrested after Injury Teen

(BROWNSTOWN) – A 32-year-old Brownstown man was arrested on a charge of battery after police say he injured a child.

Police arrested Terrence Nathaniel Turner on a felony charge of battery.

The incident happened on June 14th in an apartment at 600 North High Street.

Police began their investigated after learning about the Department of Child Services alleged Turner had beaten a teenager.

According to court records, Turner became angry with the male teen for taunting him. He then chased the teen downstairs and hit him in the face at least four times with his closed fist.

The teen tried to block one of the punches and sprained his finger and suffered bruising behind his ear.

The teen told police Turner then began kicking him.

A relative took the teen to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested Turner in the apartment the incident occurred. Police found him hiding under a bed.

Turner was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday and is currently being held without bond.
