Bedford Woman Arrested After Stealing From Walmart

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman was arrested after she was caught removing tags from items at Walmart and putting them in her backpack Monday night.

Bedford Police officers arrested 26-year-old Shelby Menaugh and issued her a summons to appear in court on a charge of theft.

According to BFD Chief Terry Moore, officers were requested to the store at 9:20 p.m. after the stores asset protection employee caught Menaugh taking tags off of items and taking other items from their packages and concealing them in her backpack.

Officers stopped Menaugh as she was leaving the store. She signed a no trespass notification and was cited to appear in Superior Court I on a charge of theft.
