Medical Issues May Have Caused Monday Night Accident That Claimed Loogootee Man’s Life

(DAVIESS CO.) – Officials believe a medical condition may have caused a Loogootee man to crash his car into a tree Monday night.

Police say 58-year-old Donald Harris was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 9180 block of South County Road 1125 East in Loogootee at 8:30 p.m.

Deputies say Harris was traveling north and for an unknown reason his car left the roadway, traveled 400 feet and collided with a tree.

People who were at the scene administered first aid and began CPR until a Southwest Medical ambulance arrived on the scene.

Assisting at the scene were Southeast Fire Department and Dubois County EMS.
