(SPRINGS VALLEY) – A former Springs Valley Junior-Senior High School teacher has been arrested again in connection with a child pornography case.
Kari Buchanan was initially arrested by Indiana State Police in January after they say she had inappropriate communication with a male Spring Valley student. She was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and child seduction.
Buchanan, 43, was a health and physical education teacher at Springs Valley Jr./Sr. High School. She turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
She is now facing a charge of obstruction of justice and invasion of privacy after she attempted to get a witness to change their story.
Buchanan is being held in the Orange County Jail on a $2,005 cash or 20,000 surety bond. She is scheduled for a bond reduction and initial hearing on June 13 at 1:30 p.m. before Orange Superior Court Judge Michael Cloud.
