(BEDFORD) – North Lawrence and Mitchell Community Schools are participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) that provides free meals to all children 18 years old and under as well as to those over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.
The meals will be served at Bedford Middle School (BMS) beginning Monday, June 10. Breakfast will be available from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch will be served at Mitchell High School from 11 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Both breakfast and lunch will be served at BMS until July 26, 2019 and lunch will be served at MHS until July 5, 2019. No meals will be served on Wednesday, July 4th, 2019.
The meals are dine-in only and will be provided to all children for free. The adult breakfast costs $2.20 and lunch costs $3.35.
The Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSP) was created to serve nutritious meals to children when National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meals are not available. SFSP reimburses organizations that prepare and serve meals to eligible children during the summer and school vacation periods.
