(GREENE CO.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 59 near Midland for a drainage structure replacement.
Beginning on or around Monday, June 3, contractors will close State Road 59 from the intersection of State Road 54 to the intersection of State Road 48 as they work to replace a small drainage structure located about three miles north of the west junction of State Road 54/59. This requires a complete excavation, including pavement cuts across the width of the roadway.
Depending upon weather conditions, the project is scheduled to last until mid to late June. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, however through traffic should use the official detour of State Road 54, State Road 67, State Road. 157 and State Road 48.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
