Irene Marie “Sue” (Hubbs) Masterson – Oolitic

Irene Marie “Sue” (Hubbs) Masterson, 84, of Oolitic, died at 7:59 am on Monday, May 20, 2019, at her residence.
Born December 27, 1934, in Tell City, IN, she was the daughter of Charles and Esther (Strahl) Hubbs. She
married Bob Masterson on July 31, 1954, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2018. She was a devoted wife,
mother and homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Kelly Masterson, and wife, JoAnn, of Danville, IN, Kevin Masterson and wife, Denise,
of Bedford, and Kyle Masterson and wife, Josi, of Indianapolis; two daughters, Terry Rogan, and husband, Jim, of Bardstown, KY and Lynn Brinegar, of Bedford; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Kitty
Farquhar, Beann Spahn, Emily Weddle, Jane Meek, Vicky Smith, Ann Fowler, Linda Anderson, Meg Boswell, Mark
Hubbs, and Bill Hubbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Charlie Hubbs, and a sister, Marty Hubbs.
Irene’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at St.
Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the church.

Carolyn Moffitt – Bedford
June 17, 1957 – May 18, 2019
Carolyn Moffitt, 61, of Bedford, passed away May 18, 2019, in New Albany, Indiana.
Born June 17, 1957, in Bedford, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Norma J. (Underwood) Ellis.
She married Timothy G. Moffitt on September 23, 1995, in Mitchell, Indiana; and he survives.
She was a cashier at Walmart and had also worked in the cafeteria at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Timothy Moffitt of Bedford; one sister-in-law, Sherryl Tolbert of Mitchell; one aunt, Evelyn Fields of Bedford; one uncle, Don Underwood of Bedford; four nephews, Kevin Bowden of Mitchell, Justin Tolbert of Mitchell, Joshua Tolbert of Bedford, and Nickolaus Tolbert of New Albany; one niece Susan McBride of Kansas; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Richard Ellis; two sisters, Sarah Alice Scott and Sharon Bowden; two uncles, Walter “Ike” Underwood, and Dale Underwood; two aunts, Donna Brown and Sarah Tincher; and one nephew, Jerry Craig Bowden.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. A graveside service will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.
