ISP and Mitchell Police Make Heroin Dealing Arrests

(MITCHELL) – On Friday, May 10, Indiana State Police and the Mitchell Police Department investigated a report of heroin dealing on Moffatt Road in Mitchell.

ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil says during the investigation, police had enough information to request a warrant for the home.

Indiana State Police DES Detectives, Mitchell Police Officers Shawn Cabral and Ryan Duckett, along with ISP Detective Zach Robbins, Sgt. Greg Day, and Trp. Chris Griggs executed the search warrant.

The search resulted in the seizure of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence of dealing.

Trooper discovered the drug dealing was done allegedly in the presence of a small child under the age of five. Sgt. Curt Durnil says, the Department of Child Services was contacted, and arrangements were made for the safety of the child.

After completing the search of the home and conducting interviews, troopers arrested 22-year-old Jacob Roach, of Mitchell on charges of dealing heroin, possession of heroin and neglect of a dependent and 21-year-old Carmyn Goodman, of Mitchell on charges of possession of heroin and neglect of a dependent.

Roach and Goodman were transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
Sgt. Curt Durnil says this investigation is continuing, and police expect additional charges will be forthcoming.
