Police: Father Of Slain Indianapolis Girl Arrested

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The father of an 8-year-old Indianapolis girl who was shot to death in March has been arrested.

Indianapolis police say members of the department’s violent crimes unit and U.S. marshals took the man into custody Monday. He was named in an open warrant related to the March 24 death of Kendrielle Brye.
The girl was suffering from a gunshot wound when she was taken to an Indianapolis fire station. She later died at a hospital. Police have said she didn’t shoot herself.
The Indianapolis Star reports Monday from records that her father was being held on preliminary charges of marijuana and narcotic possession.
Kendrielle’s 38-year-old mother, Tiffany White, was charged in April with neglect, drug possession and illegal possession of a firearm.
