DNR Warns Boaters of High Water Levels

(UNDATED) – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources warns boaters that all state-operated reservoirs are experiencing high water levels as a result of heavy rain and associated flooding.

Launching ramp use is limited, and many ramps are accessible only at areas designed for high-water launching.
Those who choose to boat are asked to provide extra distance when operating near dams and use caution when boating in newly flooded areas. Doing so will help reduce the erosional effects of boat-wave action.
Be mindful that newly flooded areas and boating in unfamiliar areas increases the risk of encountering underwater hazards
– use extreme caution.
Expect to experience unusually high amounts of floating debris.
