According to Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, Lawrence County deputies were dining at the restaurant when 20-year-old Gage Gabhart began shouting and cursing at the officers saying they were staring at him.
“At the time there were several people in the business, and the officers had Mr. Gabhart step outside where he continued to be loud,” Chief Deputy Shoults says. “He was asked several times to calm down and be quiet. At one point Gabhart was released from custody after the officers explained to him that he could not exhibit this behavior.”
Gabhart told police he was acting this way to trying to impress his friends.
“Upon being released he began being loud and verbally abusive again,” says Chief Deputy Shoults. “At that point, he was placed under arrest and tried to pull away and refused to get into the patrol car, shoving one of the officers.”
He was transported to jail without further incident.
