Teen Suffers Minor Injuries After Car Crashes Into Tree

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford teen was injured after an accident on South Leatherwood Road on Monday afternoon.


According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 16-year-old Maddilyn Donahue of Bedford was traveling west on South Leatherwood Road in a 2010 Toyota Corolla when she crested a hill. At the same time, 26-year-old John Craig of Bedford was traveling the opposite direction in a 2008 Buick Enclave and crossed the center line. Donahue attempted to avoid a collision and overcorrected, causing the car to run off the roadway and strike a tree.
Donahue was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew for minor injuries to her chest and arm from the airbag deploying.
Craig was not injured and reported zero damage to his vehicle following the incident.
