Traffic Change On State Road 37 In Martinsville

(MARTINSVILLE) – Today, the traffic configuration on State Road 37 between Ohio Street and State Road 252 in Martinsville will change to accommodate the reconstruction of the outside lanes of southbound State Road 37.

Just south of State Road 252, traffic on southbound State Road 37 will be moved left to a single lane of traffic.
Prior to Grand Valley Blvd., a left turn lane will open up and be available for traffic turning left into the commercial area.
Southbound traffic will remain in one lane until just south of Grand Valley Blvd. where a second southbound traffic lane will become available.
Traffic on northbound State Road 37 will be unrestricted, with two through lanes from Ohio Street through Grand Valley Blvd., and the third climbing lane becoming available before reaching State Road 252.
Even though northbound State Road 37 is unrestricted, the construction zone will be active and motorists are urged to be aware of changing traffic conditions.
This is the first of three traffic changes that will be made in the Martinsville construction zone over the next few weeks. Motorists should drive with no distractions, pay attention to the traffic around them and be aware of changing traffic conditions.
The posted speed limit for the SR 37 construction zone is 45 miles per hour, from Ohio Street in the south to SR 252 in the north. Speed limits are clearly posted via message boards and temporary signage.
