Orleans Police Ask Motorists To Be On Alert During Dogwood Festival

(ORLEANS) – The Orleans Police Department is asking motorist not to block driveways or alleyways and park as close to the curb as possible to allow fire, ambulances, and police to reach areas where they may be needed when they visit the Dogwood Festival April 24 – April 27.

Town Marshal Richard Dixon says motorists should also lock their vehicles and make sure all windows are rolled up. Keep valuables out of sight when possible to avoid thefts.
Be alert to children who might dart out from behind parked cars in their excitement to get to the carnival,” Marshal Dixon says. “In the event of an emergency call 911, in most cases, first responders and ambulance personnel will be on site along with the police.”
Keep animals on a leash and clean up any waste they might produce as per ordinance and as a courtesy to other carnival visitors.
“We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience at this year’s Dogwood Festival,” Marshal Dixon added.
