Griffy Lake Boathouse Opens Saturday

(BLOOMINGTON) – The Griffy Lake boathouse, located at 3300 N. Headley Rd. on Bloomington’s north side, resumes its boat rental operations on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. beginning April 6.

Canoe, kayak, rowboat, and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available during boathouse hours. Rental fees are $8 per hour per watercraft.
Griffy Lake charges a fee to launch privately owned boats. Launch fees are $7 per day or $70 per season. Boat motors are restricted to electric trolling motors only. All boats must be launched at the boat ramp near the boathouse.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources stocks Griffy Lake with bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. A valid Indiana fishing license is required to fish at Griffy Lake. More than 10 miles of natural-surface hiking trails traverse the forest and ravines surrounding Griffy Lake, and trail maps are available at the boathouse. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Griffy Lake. Please pick up after your pet.
