Parent Talks: Learn About Indiana’s Assessments

(BLOOMINGTON) – On Wednesday, April 17, the Monroe County Community School Corporation will host a discussion on Indiana’s assessments.

The event will be held at the MCCSC Co-Lab on 553 East Miller Drive and is from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
This year, the Indiana Department of Education is requiring a new state-wide computer adaptive assessment called ILEARN. Learn about this assessment and how it differs from the previous ISTEP+ Assessment.
Officials will also discuss I AM, which is the alternative assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities in grades 3-8 and 10.
Those attending will have the opportunity to learn about supports and accessibility features that your child will be able to use during the assessment. They will also cover other state-mandated tests, pre and post-tests, and progress monitoring tools.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore sample questions and become familiar with the tools and features of ILEARN and I AM.
This event will be streamed live on Facebook for those who cannot attend.
