(BEDFORD) – A fire caused extensive damage to a home at 1812 H Street early Sunday morning.
Bedford Fire Department firefighters were alerted to the fire at 2:48 a.m. and arrived on the scene in less than three minutes.
The house, which had been converted into apartments, had fire shooting out the front door and two windows when firefighters arrived.
Four people were in the building when the fire started. Firefighters assisted one resident out and provided them oxygen until an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew arrived on the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There was extensive damage to the lower level of the two-story home.
The American Red Cross was alerted to help provided assistance to the renters.
