Hoosier Season Ends In NIT Quarterfinal

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) – The Indiana Hoosiers’ run in the NIT came to an end as they were defeated by sixth-seed Wichita State 73-63.

Markis McDuffie led the Shockers with 21 points while freshman teammate Dexter Dennis added 17 and six blocks.
Romeo Langford missed his third straight game with back soreness as Juwan Morgan led IU with 21 points in the final game of his college career.
“I didn’t want this to be my last game, but at the same time, it is what it is,” Morgan said. “I’ve given my heart and soul all four years, every single game. I think I gave everything to this team, to the fans, and I think they appreciated that. As I was walking off the court, I kind of felt that.”
The Hoosiers shot just 38.5 percent from the field while the Shockers drained 11 3-pointers. Indiana only had 13 attempts at the free throw line compared to Wichita State’s 25 and Archie Miller made that a point of emphasis after the game.
“The inability to get to the foul line for us tonight was crucial. Around the basket, we knew things were going to be very hard, and they were. Everything was challenged.”
The Hoosiers season ends at 19-16 while the Shockers head to Madison Square Garden to take on Lipscomb in the semifinals.
