Jeanne (Stailey) Speer – Bedford

Jeanne Speer, age 81, passed away on March 23, 2019, at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington, IN.
Gloria Jean “Jeanne” was born on May 25, 1937, in Oolitic, IN to Jess and Pearl (Moore) Stailey, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Oolitic High School in 1955. Jeanne married Fred H. Speer on April 16, 1956.
Jeanne is survived by Fred H. Speer, her loving husband of nearly 63 years. Her children are Brian K., who preceded her in infancy, Trent A. Speer of Bloomington, IN and Susan E. (J. David) George of Bedford, IN. The love for her grandchildren, Adam V. (Brianna) Glenn, Lauren George and Great Grandson Liam V. Glenn all of Bedford, IN, was abundantly clear to all that she met.
She is survived by her sister and life-long best friend, Ruth Plummer. Her brother, Lowell Stailey, preceded her in death, but Jeanne is survived by her sister-in-law Ruthie Stailey of Ft. Myers, FL.
Jeanne had several nieces and nephews but her family would like to thank those with the opportunity with such short notice to embrace her to make her life more comfortable and enjoyable during her illness: Lee Ann Plummer, Roberta Plummer, Julie (Fred) D’Alesio, and Mike (Debbie) Stailey.
She loved spending time with her friends, traveling, attending every activity of her children and grandchildren, IU and BNL basketball and enriching the lives of all the children in her family.
Jeanne was a member of the Oolitic Baptist Church and Laborers International Union of North America Local 204. She retired from the Indiana Laborers Training Trust Fund as the Office Manager in 1999 after a 27-year career.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Timothy M. McGill – Bedford
August 19, 1955 – March 22, 2019
Timothy M. McGill, 63 of Bedford Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 22 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born and raised in Seymour, Indiana by his loving parents, George and Dorothy McGill. He graduated from Seymour High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College. Since 1987, he was employed by W. F. Meyers Diamond Tools and Machinery in Bedford. A talented and gifted draftsman and designer, he drew a machine that made all the exterior stone panels for Yankee Stadium, all Cadillac dealerships, and Toyota’s U.S. headquarters. His tools and machines played a vital role in providing the right finish on stone that was ultimately used in countless construction projects on college campuses, government buildings, and private residences.
Tim was an avid fan of I.U. basketball, the Indianapolis Colts, and auto racing. He also loved motorcycles and a
good game of Euchre. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan McGill. He is survived by his cousins Linda Buckner, Ric Wilcox, and Jan Vermillion, all of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service on Wednesday, March 27 at the Day & Carter Mortuary, at 1133 Lincoln Avenue in Bedford.
