Paoli Police Arrest Two Men on Meth and Other Related Drug Charges

(FRENCH LICK) – On Tuesday at 10 p.m. after a month-long investigation, Paoli Police officers arrested a meth dealer and another male for possession of meth.


” We have taken a stand against the drug epidemic which plagues our community,” says Paoli Police Sgt. Tyler Phillips, ” We plan to continue our aggressive efforts of combating methamphetamine and will pursue anyone who chooses to distribute this dangerous drug. Addiction has affected many families within our community and by aggressive enforcement efforts, we hope to deter dealers from selling meth in our area. If someone has drug information or needs help with a loved one who’s addicted, I strongly encourage them to share their information with us. All tips can remain anonymous.”
Over the past month, officers gathered information, conducted surveillance and made controlled drug buys from 54-year-old Larry McHugh Sr., of Paoli.
With the assistance of offices with French Lick and West Baden Police Departments, officers went to McHugh’s home on Plum Street in French Lick and arrested him and 57-year-old LeRoy Kalb, of French Lick without incident.

Officers seized more than 30 grams of meth, 88 grams of marijuana, $468 in cash, several prescription drugs, 50 hypodermic syringes, two sets of digital scales, three cell phones and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

McHugh was arrested on warrants for dealing meth over 10 grams, possession of meth, unlawful possession of syringes, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and new charges of dealing meth over 10 grams, possession of meth, dealing marijuana over 30 grams, possession of marijuana, possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of syringes.
Kalb is facing charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a syringe.
Assist were deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Orange County Prosecutor’s Office, French Lick Fire Department.
