(UNDATED) – Duke Energy is warning its customers of increasing telephone scams.
Residents are receiving calls from a person threatening to cut off the resident’s electric service if they don’t immediately make a payment over the telephone.
Duke officials say don’t make the payment and hang up immediately.
Scammers may also spoof your caller I-D by making it look like the call is coming from Duke Energy.
