Indiana State Parks Host Native Plant Sales

(UNDATED) – Indiana State Parks will be hosting annual native plant sales soon sponsored by the Indiana Native Plant Society.

Whatever your interest – protecting natural places, adding native plants to your garden, photographing wildflowers, or lending expertise to your community of native plant enthusiasts – there’s a place for you at the Indiana Native Plant Society.
Together they are working with the public to create healthy ecosystems, teach the next generation to love the land, and save the wild beauty of Indiana.
When people think of native plants, they tend to focus on wildflowers, ignoring the full range of plant types that make up the native plant palette.
Native plants include:

  • Trees
  • Shrubs
  • Grasses
  • Sedges
  • Forbs (annuals and perennials)
  • Ferns
  • Bryophytes (mosses and liverworts)
  • Fungi (not really plants, but essential plant-like natives)

All of these go into making up the variety of natural plant associations and habitats we have in Indiana.
